DUKE RIM FURY JACK SLS3 6TERS*
Made for Enduro Race, it’s the predilection wheel of Rémy Absalon, Mégavalanche 2017 winner, its high profile gives it an incomparable style. The Hookless side, coupled with its height of 24mm(front) & 22mm (rear) increase its rigidity and its resistance to the impacts. You will understand, it is the ultimate weapon to chase the time of the stages while saving on the links. Thought for the Enduro World Series. Designed, developed and tested in France, The DUKE Fury Jack in carbon has an ASYMMETRICAL profile (offset of 3 mm) which allows to increase the lateral stiffness of the wheel without gaining weight. The internal width between the hooks / large walls is 32.5mm(front) & 29mm(rear). This gives more volume to the tires and improves efficiency, comfort and grip in turns. A wide rim also means being able to use thinner and lighter tires while maintaining comfort, The softness and grip provided by a larger volume of air. Hookless sides: the robustness of the rim is superior compared to a carbon rim with hooks. This technology has been used successfully on our rims since 2011. The height of the rim edge for 2015 is reduced by 1mm to further limit any risk of contact with the ground. Lateral stiffness improved by 40% compared to the previous version. Resistant to impacts even on the most brittle ground: Absorption of impact energy improved by more than 50% compared to the previous model. Anti-burp system: the heel of the tire is held in position whatever its pressure, no risk of “out rim”. Tubeless or inner tube.
In 2019, MTB rims profiles are differentiated as we do not ask the rims the same qualities while riding :
A front wheel must give grip, be light, stiff and handy.
A rear wheel must be more comfortable, tronger and offer more efficiency.
Thus the front and rear wheels have different profiles and lay-ups.
In collaboration with Rémy and Julien Absalon, the 6TERS front and rear profiles complement each other for a greater efficiency in the trails.
Many of you are aware of different needs because you are already using different section tires at front and rear wheel.
The Duke 6TERS* concept offers a wider front rim than the rear rim for more grip and stiffness. Its weight is optimized for robustness.
The rear profile is reworked with a reduced section, with a new carbon fiber layer to improve compliance and increase the impact resistance, the constraints being much more important on the back wheel.
SLS3 Factory Process ‘21
All our carbon MTB rims now benefit from the manufacturing process tested and approved by the Super Light Series, which offers a 10% gain in rim’s weight.
This manufacturing process goes even further today as it is now made under dust-free laboratory and no longer requires sanding nor painting.
SLS3 products have an excellent aesthetic appearance, right out of the mold.
As no longer painted, the rims can not be scratched.
Impact resistance is not left out, since it is also improved by 20%.
SLS3 rims are built from UD carbon fiber only.
