Description
DUKE Lucky Star HD 6TERS
A rim for the dedicated XC rider
The Lucky Star HD (Heavy Duty) 6TERS aluminium rims offer a modern geometry with asymmetric profile and reinforced structures.
The profiles of these mountain bike rims are designed differently, because the requirements for front and rear wheel rims are not the same.
A front wheel rim should provide plenty of grip, be stiff, offers optimum tyre support and allow precise handling.
In collaboration with brothers Absalon and Perrin-Ganier, the front and rear profiles of the 6TERS complement each other for greater efficiency on the trails.
Features
- Tubeless Ready
- asymmetric (Offset) Profile
- hookless rim
- Offset: 2.3mm
Technologies & Features
Heavy Duty (HD)
The HD or “Heavy Duty” design makes Duke rims more versatile thanks to increased impact resistance. This is achieved by reinforcing areas to withstand higher loads.
Hookless Rim
This type of rim is far stronger than the traditional clincher rim. Duke has used this technology with great success, on their rims since 2011
Burp-Free System
The bead of the tyre is held in position irrespective of the tyre pressure and the ground conditions, preventing any risk of the tyre coming off its rim even when giving it full gas in the corners.
Asymmetric Profile
By offsetting, DUKE was able to increase the potential lateral wheel strength and its stability without adding weight. Rim drillings are off-center to improve bracing angles for a stronger, more rigid wheel.
6TERS
The Duke 6TERS concept offers a wider front rim than the rear rim for more grip at the front and rear stiffness. Low weight and high comfort are preferred at the front instead of strength.
Wide inner rim
A wider profile rim increases the comfort, for the rider, compared to a similar width tyre mounted on a narrow “standard” rim because of the increased air volume in the tyre.
Tubeless Ready
The Tubeless compatible rims by Duke (UST, Tubeless Ready and Notubes), only require some Duke rim tape and a Tubeless-ready valve. They can also be used in a classic clincher set up (tyre & inner tube).
Maximum system weight: 110 kg!
